The Lyman Table
This client ordered a rare grafted, live-edge English Walnut bookmatched slab set for the dining table and placed it over a traditional trestle base made from black walnut. This kind of slab happens when an English walnut tree is cut and spliced onto another walnut variety such as Claro Walnut when both trees are young. The result is an interesting grain line in the middle showing the difference in color and character between the species. It has incredible figuring in the lower half and warm browns above the grain line. It’s paired with custom waterfall benches also made from English Walnut slabs.
